Soda Machine Filler Needed

One of St. Andrew's Collects & Delivers Christmas Presents to the Homeless
Jake Clendening asked that some of his Christmas present money go to helping him take care of the homeless this year.
Jake was able to put together 21 bags of gifts for homeless people that included socks, beanie, chapstick, energy bar, shampoo, shower gel, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrush, wet wipes, kleenex, and a little note with a Bible verse on a 3x5 card.
Jake took a handful of others including Jenn Neitzey, his Youth Minister, with him and set out for Houston. It was all enthusiasm on delivery day. Christmas at home had a deeper meaning.

Congratulations, Debbie!
Debbie has been honored by the request of the Diocese of Texas to join the Committee for the search for the new Canon for Mission & Service who will report directly to Bishop Doyle.
St. Andrew's Family,
I am pleased to announce that Debbie has been accepted to Indiana Wesleyan Seminary. She will start her work on her Masters in Ministerial Leadership in January. This non-ordination track degree will take two years to complete and involves a minimal amount of time where she will be in Indiana. She does get to go to Indiana in the dead of winter, however. ;)

I was overwhelmed by your gifts and the celebration of my 50th anniversary of ordination to the priesthood. I was especially touched by the hand-made cards and their messages from the preschool children. And I can still hardly believe that you all will plant two groves of trees, in honor of my commitment to
conservation of the planet and all its living plants and animals,
including us. I am very grateful for the Christmas gifts which so
many of your gave this Christmas time. I can't thank you all enough for the love your have given me in these years among you.

Leading from the Heart
Guys,
I like to start an early morning meeting of men at a local restaurant. One hour and then we move on. We'd gather for mutual support, check in and and growth as guys.
We could read Coach K's book about leadership (Leading from the Heart).
Interested? Five or more and we will do it for a 6 week trail run and then assess going on from there.

Safeguarding God's Children Training
Safeguarding God's Children is a training program for the prevention of sexual abuse of children and youth. The training informs participants of the ways predators gain access to and groom children for abuse and it outlines the safeguards the Church has put in place to protect children and youth in our churches, schools and diocesan institutions.
The Diocese of Texas requires this training for all employees (full or part-time) of churches, schools and Diocesan institutions and for all volunteers who work with children and youth in any ministry setting.
St. Andrew's recommends Safeguarding God's Children to all adults of the parish and requires it of all employees, leadership of the church and all adult participants in any phase of work directly with children or youth. This includes all scouting groups and school youth groups, and non-church children's activities. There are no exceptions.
