Crutches for Haiti
Cokesbury United Methodist Church has a mobile medical clinic on its way to Haiti to help in the relief efforts in that earthquake ravaged nation. They put out a call for individuals and organizations to donate used crutches, wheelchairs and other mobility devices to send with their medical personnel to assist the many people who had to have a leg amputated after the earthquake.
St. Andrew's sent along 4 pairs of brand new crutches which they were thrilled (and very surprised) to receive! We sent two pairs of children's crutches and 2 pairs of adult crutches.
Thank you to all of you who prayed over these items and I ask that you continue to pray for those who will receive them.

Students Collect Money for Haiti
This past week, students from E.C. Mason Elementary School collected $370 to send to Compassion International for the children in their program in Haiti. Anna Claire Curl and many other children donated their Tooth Fairy Money and Lunch Money and emptied their piggy banks. This project was led by our own Allison Curl.

Donations to Haiti Relief Efforts Are Deductible on Your 2009 Taxes
Charitable contributions made before March 1, 2010, in response to the Haiti earthquake can
be claimed as itemized charitable deductions on your 2009 tax return
instead of waiting to claim these on your 2010 tax return (see The
House of Representatives bill H.R. 4462 passed 1/20/10).
As with any tax concern, please consult your own professional
advisor to learn how a gift to Haiti relief will affect your tax
situation.
