Pumpkin Patch
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
pump The Pumpkin Patch is the biggest event of the year we put on for the community. It takes every member to make the Pumpkin Patch a success.
Pumpkin sales benefit the Navajo Nation and the ministries of St. Andrew's.
There are two ways you can help do your part.
1. Sign up for sales shifts - Shifts are 2 hours long and start at 10 am. The last shift ends at 8 pm. Training available.
2. Help unload. We get almost 100,000 lbs of pumpkins (we are in the top 20 in sales in the nation!) We need 100 people at each unloading. Our scout troops and packs help out as do some of the other the other groups that use the building. Parishioners help make up the remainder of the unloading crew. Can't lift? We have other jobs on unloading day.
Unloading Days (check office for exact details)
9/26   at 9 am
10/10 at 9 am
10/19 at 5 pm
Contact Debbie Allensworth for more details.
Vestry Highlights
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  • vestryApproved that the following slate of candidates - Christine Lusk, Russell Meachen, Cary McDonald, Ed Carrette, Jeff Campbell - be accepted for the 2009 Vestry Election and, be it further resolved, that they be elected by acclamation and no parish election be held since six slots are open and five candidates are being put forth.  One year slot will be negotiated with candidates or drawn by lot.
  • Christine Lusk and Russell Meachen were appointed to fill immediately, two of the vacant vestry positions for the remainder of this year.
  • Appointment of Debbie Allensworth as Council Delegate 2010- 2013.  Other Council Delegates are Barbara Kinsey, Bobby Nicholls, and Senior Warden.
  • The vestry decided to forgo a Dinner Auction Replacement activity for this year, realizing the impact of a $10K budget income shortfall.

Learn About Other Faiths
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For the past two years, Christine and I have hosted a dinner for people of all (and no) faiths to get together for a simple meal and discussion. Discussion questions are supplied and the conversation is constructed so that people talk about their faith and not defend it or try to win others over. The night is safe, moderated and fun.
Christine and I have been blessed by the Jews, Muslims, Atheists and various Christians who have been in our home.   We would like to encourage you to attend one of these dinners of 8-10 people. It is worth the time.
