IT IS "BACK TO SCHOOL" TIME AGAIN....

Please help Christian Helping Hands be a success again this year.  Each year we have grown in the number of students we have been blessed to help with supplies.  This year, we are expecting an even greater number of families in need, due to our current economic crisis.
Please help us meet or exceed our goal of helping 1,000 of our area's children succeed in school by sending them back with the supplies they need.  With God's help, we can make the school year a great success.
All types of school supplies are needed (crayons, paper, pencils, glue, pens, etc.).  A complete list of supplies can be found in Sunday's Leaflet or by contacting the Church office.  Supplies are needed by Sunday, August 10th.

Bring your items to church, thank you!

A HISTORY OF GOD

DVD class
One session

9:15 am Room 107
8/10/08

He is at the center of some of the most critical and controversial questions of all time.

In this illuminating program based on theologian Karen Armstrong's bestselling book, take a fascinating look at the countless ways human beings have experienced the idea of god throughout the ages: from the days before Abraham to today. Explore the evolution from the practice of sacrificial paganism to a more serene and compassionate religious way of life. Interviews with representatives from today's key monotheistic religions reveal how human beings have come to worship one supreme being, while prominent religious scholars contemplate how the traditions of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam have influenced one another and how their individual histories overlap.

A HISTORY OF GOD plays an investigative role in humankind's timeless and unrelenting struggle for faith, comfort, and understanding.

NEW CLASS - NEW MATERIAL

Fresh Donuts and Coffee!

The Quest for Authentic Manhood is the foundational level or ground floor of manhood. This 24-session study focuses on a man's core identity and gives an overview of basic manhood issues. It will help men deal with various identity issues by looking back at past wounds and other things that may have distorted their idea of biblical masculinity. Throughout the course of the study, men will learn how to clearly define manhood and will finally be able to give a succinct and passionate answer to the questions, "What is a man?" and "What am I living to be?"

This captivating journey helps men:

Resolve wounds from their past
Embrace a biblical definition of manhood
Develop their own personal manhood plan

$25; Please RSVP so I can order materials.

First Study:  It's Personal

This study is directed to men and women who desire a personal connection with God, but who have questions, doubts, and concerns. A case is made for the fact that adults don't become followers of Christ by getting all their questions answered. In most instances, something happens that shrinks those questions. And that something is always personal. You don't have to understand everything to believe in something.

RECYCLING

Cans - Every time you are ready to throw out that soda or other beverage can, remind yourself that you are throwing away money that could have gone to the Work Campers. Every aluminum can counts. You may drop off your collection in the old kitchen. We are collecting all the way through July. So please
recycle the cans!

Ink Cartridges - Reduce pollution, and raise funds. Most of us have inkjet printers at home or work. When you have an empty cartridge next time, do not throw it away-just bring it to St. Andrew's. We have a special recycle box in the Foyer of the Family Life Center.  St. Andrew's is paid up to $4.00 for each cartridge.
