| WHAT IS ALL SAINTS? |
|
|
Christians celebrate All Saints Day on November 1st each year. On All Saints, a major Christian feast, we remember those who were especially Christ-like while here on earth. The night before All Saints is All Hallows Eve. You know this as Halloween. The day after All Saints is All Souls Day, when we remember all who have died.
This year, we are combining all three days for a worship service on 11/1/07 at 7:00 pm. We will celebrate those who truly were saints, we will realize that as scary as life gets, God is with us, and we will remember all those who we love but see no longer. We have been collecting names of these people for a few weeks. These names will be read in worship on 11/1.
Come to worship. Come in costume or without one, your choice. Light a candle for those you love who have died. This is a moving service. Ones the kids will like.

| MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES |
|
|
Shirt Sales - We have some great St. Andrew's shirts. Would you be willing to sell them after service once a month?
Yuck! - Have you seen the carpet outside room 102? It has never been shampooed. Never! And, it looks it. Would you be willing to shampoo the carpet in the 102 area? It is the equivalent of a few rooms in your house. Help make a great impression.
Bread Baking - Want to learn the recipe for the yummy altar bread and help your church family as well. Once a month for us (and as many times as you want for you.) The recipe is not hard. Help make worship great.
Musical Offering - Play an instrument? Sing? We would love to have you perform something during worship as a special offering.
Is it Christmas already? - Well, no, but it's time to plan for our annual Christmas Pageant. It does happen without some adult help. Is that you? We have a leader; just need some adults to help.
Altar Help - Do you care about our worship? Want to know more about Episcopal worship? Do you want to help make it happen? Once a month ministries are open in worship set up. We will train and love you. Once a month for a few hours.
Audiovisual - God is calling one person to coordinate a team of audiovisual people for 10:30 am worship. Most of the team is already in place.

| WHAT IS A SHARE? |
|
|
At the close of each year St. Andrew's prepares the operating budget for the coming year. The budget is based on the amount pledged by the congregation. From these pledges, leadership determines what programs we as a church can offer and the amount of staff we can maintain to lead it. Our church receives no financial support from outside the church. (We of course have loans, which we must pay back through the pledges of the congregation.)
Surprisingly, only half of our congregation makes a pledge each year, leaving our church to continually struggle financially. Once a year we conduct a Stewardship Campaign to speak to those members who have not yet begun to pledge and help those giving to continue to build up to the 10% God asks from each of us.
This year's Imagine campaign focuses on thinking of your pledge as a fulfillment of your "Share." This year's pledge cards included a chart which suggests a "Floor-of-Support" for those individuals new to giving. This chart can also be used by those who are already giving, but struggling to determine the best next step in their growth towards 10%.
St. Andrew's gives so much to each of us as members and to our community. I can not Imagine what my life would be like without St. Andrew's so I ask you to Imagine what we could do with a pledge from each of our members.
