Greetings!
           YMCA Building
We hope you had a great summer!  A lot is happening at the Knox County Y.  The YMCA is currently finishing up our annual shutdown where we work on maintenance and cleaning of the equipment and the building.  The new parking lot construction is in full swing and a new Zumba fitness class is starting soon.  The new 2009-2010 brochure is available here.  Take a look below for more information on these topics!

Zumba Class
Beginning September 14th we will be offering ZUMBA classes!  Heather Hillhouse will be teaching Zumba at 5:30pm each Monday night.   The routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat. Add some Latin flavor and international zest into the mix and you've got ZumbaŽ!  We are very excited about this popular class and we hope you are too!  Click here for more information about Zumba.

Group Cycling classes are still a popular option for YMCA Members.  Several class times are offered each week at a price of $2.00 per class (you must pay for the entire month of classes).  Register for group cycling classes at the front desk.

New 177 Space Parking Lot
The new 177 space parking lot is due to be completed in September.  The new parking lot  will help meet the needs of our 5400 members.  Linus Vander Wyst, the YMCA's Executive Director, says "We can serve our members better by providing additional parking and more convenient access for our growing senior population.  Kids and families will have improved access with this development as well."  Here a few photos of the construction:
