Clothes Washer Greywater Workshop
Hands-On Two Day Workshop "Gets You to Installed" With Help From Professionals - October 8 & 9
Santa Monica, CA - The City of Santa Monica is partnering with Greywater Action to provide Santa Monica homeowners with all the parts and know-how required to install a clothes washer greywater system for landscape irrigation for free. Greywater is the wastewater originating from clothes washers, bathroom sinks, showers, and bathtubs. Greywater is a valuable resource that can be safely used in a drip irrigation system to water shrubs and trees and some types of vegetable gardens.
A family of four may generate as much as 12,000 gallons of greywater each year from their clothes washer alone.
Day 1: Participants receive a free greywater system parts kit and step-by-step instructions to design their own clothes washer greywater system.
Day 2: Participants install their systems at home. Staff from Greywater Action and the city will visit each home to provide trouble-shooting assistance.

Time: 8 to 5 PM
