SANTA MONICA, CA - A traveling photography exhibit and program highlighting global climate change, developed by the Swiss government, is making a stop in Santa Monica this week.  The "ThinkSwiss Climate Trail & Polar Wonders: Photographs From the End of the World" event will provide a unique opportunity to get an artistic and scientific impression of climate change.  The educational displays and photography exhibit will be dispersed throughout the Santa Monica Main Library Lobby and Youth Services Area at  601 Santa Monica Blvd from February 1st - 9th.

A presentation and reception will take place on Wednesday, February 2nd at 7pm in the Martin Luther King Jr. Auditorium.

This presentation is open to the public, free of charge, and offers the Santa Monica community an opportunity to:

  • Meet award winning photographer, Daisy Gilardini, and hear her speak about her expeditions to the Polar Regions.
  • Learn about climate change from a scientific perspective as Konrad Steffen, Director, Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences at the University of Colorado will discuss the global issues and answer your questions. The Daily Nightly on MSNBC News calls him "a rock star in the world of global warming."
  • Screen documentary filmmaker, Corina Gamma's film, about the wildlife in Antarctica.
