What better way to celebrate the week of Earth Day,
but to upgrade your appliances - recycle your old clunkers - and get paid for
it? The California Cash for Appliances
Program (similar to
the popular Cash for Clunkers Program and expected to be just as popular, www.cash4appliances.org)
is being made available the days between April 22nd to May 23rd. Rebates
for qualified washers, refrigerators and A/C units will be available.
If you
have your eye on the latest clothes washers, now is the time to buy. The program allows rebates for high
efficiency clothes washers with a water factor* of 6.0 or less. The program is complimented by another rebate
from SoCalWaterSmart.com for clothes washers (contingent upon washers with a
water factor of 4.0 or less and the recycling of the one you are replacing).

*Water
factor = gallons of water per load per cubic foot of the machine. The lower the
water factor the more water efficient the machine.
