Let us help you transform your garden!

The Sustainable Landscape Grant Program is being re-introduced for the remainder of 2008 and all of 2009 as funds allow!

Transforming Santa Monica's traditional landscaping to Sustainable Landscaping is one of the most important efforts for local government.  Why?  Because sustainable landscaping practices save water - lots of it, with intelligent plant selection and advanced irrigation systems.  In addition, these practices significantly reduce air & water pollution and solid waste generation.

Santa Monica is offering a free, three hour orientation workshop to assist property owners in getting started.  Discussion topics include:
  • Grant application process
  • Scope of the grant
  • Preparing and submitting landscape and irrigation plans
  • Choosing proper irrigation equipment
  • Selecting climate appropriate plant material
  • What to consider when hiring a landscape professional
