Pumpkin Patch is Next Saturday!

Volunteers Still Needed

There are almost 150 spots left to fill with just one week left before Pumpkin Patch!  Please consider working double/triple shifts and/or tag teaming with your spouse. Don't forget older students (grade 6 and up), Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents, are all welcome to volunteer.

Please take a look at the list of volunteers to confirm where you've signed up, or to check out where there are still openings. The crucial areas that need to be filled include Creative Arts, Food, and Haunted House.

Please help make this another great Pumpkin Patch!

Contact: Maureen Bonanno or sign up online.

The Harvest Table Needs Wagons

Wagons allow pumpkin buyers to easily transport their pumpkins to a waiting car. Loaner wagons should be dropped off Saturday morning in front of the school, by the Harvest Table, and picked up after the event ends.

PTA Meeting - All Welcome
Thursday, October 25, 9 am, Media Center
Mark your calendars for the first PTA Meeting of the year. Come hear Principal Raneri and school psychologist Brenda Generazio talk about OGS' social-emotional learning goals, the role of the school psychologist, and the Celebration of Learning Assemblies your children will participate in this year. The PTA will give a brief update on plans for the year and vote to approve our annual budget.

Raise Funds for OGS with Your Target REDcard

Please register OGS as Your School of Choice. To date, less than 20 families have registered their Target REDcard which provides holders with an immediate 5% discount on their purchases together with an additional 1% donation to their school of choice. Click on the Fundraising tab to find out just how easy it is to make that shopping count.

Help Our Teachers in the Classrooms
If you are a parent willing to commit to volunteering one hour per week for at least eight weeks in an OGS classroom this is your chance. You will work directly with the children in an academic subject area determined by the teacher (you will not be in your own child's grade).
Contact: Annika Kennon
Please include your availability (days and times) and subject interests/preferences. If you can read music, please let us know that as well.

National Take Your Parents to Lunch Day
Friday, October 12
Check out what's cooking at school by joining your children in the cafeteria. Experience the school food environment first hand and give a big thank you to the cafeteria staff. See how school lunches are meeting new federal nutrition standards, including double the fruits and vegetables, more whole grains, less unhealthy fats and salt, and new age-based calorie ranges. This is a great opportunity to start a discussion about healthy food choices, while sharing part of the school day with your children. Healthier bodies lead to healthier minds, so make a lunch date with your kids on October 12.
Go Green

OGS Halloween Costume Exchange

Collection: October 9 - 12, OGS front hall

Exchange: October 17 and 18, OGS plaza

Go Green this Halloween by reusing or exchanging your costumes! Reuse a sibling's costume, alter a costume, or even use pillowcases as candy bags. Another great idea is to participate in the OGS Costume Exchange. Place your costume in a zip lock bag labeled with the size, then put it in the bins outside the front office from October 9 - 12. At the exchange on October 17 and 18 on the front plaza, take a costume or two home.

Please e-mail submissions to OGSBTW@gmail.com
Submissions should be in the text of the e-mail and not in an attachment. The deadline for submissions is Wednesday at 3 pm.
