Veggie of the Month - Join the Green Bean Team!
Thursday, September 20, After School, OGS Plaza
Did you know that fewer than 15% of American elementary school-aged children eat the recommended five or more servings of fruits and vegetables daily? To increase awareness and consumption at OGS, the PTA Wellness Committee will feature a seasonal vegetable each month, starting in September with the green bean. Students are invited to try a tasting of fresh, local green beans donated by The Back Forty of the Old Greenwich Farmer's Market. They can vote on how they liked this veggie and add their names to the Green Bean Team board. The Veggie of the Month will also be highlighted on the redesigned bulletin board in the OGS cafeteria, the digital display, and PTA website.  Check out the PTA Health and Wellness tab for kid-friendly green bean recipes to try at home too!
Between the Waves (BTW) is published by Old Greenwich School and the OG PTA. The BTW is sent out on a weekly basis every Friday, to all OGS families via email. Please e-mail submissions to OGSBTW@gmail.com. Submissions should be in the text of the e-mail and not in an attachment. The deadline for submissions is Wednesday at 3 pm.

Previous 2011 - 2012 issues of the BTW are now available. To access these issues please go to the BTW Page.
