An excerpt: Tight Stocks Getting Tighter -
Wheat feed and residual use is down 10 million bushels while exports are increased by 50 million bushels. Carryout is down 40 million bushels, 2 percent lower than December estimates and 15 percent lower than last year's carryout, but higher than carryout in 08/09. World carryout is up 1.3 million metric tons, mostly due to decreased European usage.

EPA Defers Decision on Biogenic Emissions
EPA
ABA has continued to comment and closely watch how the EPA would address CO2 emissions from yeast fermentation.  Today, EPA announced that it is taking more time to study biogenic emissions and their role in any greenhouse gas-permitting program.  Over the next three years, the agency's focus will be on gathering more scientific data and analysis.  More information is available on EPA's Website.

Grain Foods Foundation Promotes the Importance of Folic Acid in Birth Defects Prevention

This January, as part of National Birth Defects Prevention Month, the Grain Foods Foundation has partnered with the March of Dimes to remind all women of child-bearing age of the important role folic acid plays in preventing birth defects. Daily consumption of the B vitamin folic acid, beginning before pregnancy, is crucial as neural tube defects, birth defects of the brain and spine such as spina bifida, can occur in the early weeks following conception, often before a woman knows she is pregnant.
