ABA Supports Cal/OSHA's One Percent Trigger for Diacetyl Proposal
OSHA ABA submitted a short letter responding to Cal/OSHA's modified diacetyl proposed rule. ABA supports the 1 percent applicability threshold and also endorses the comment letter submitted by the Grocery Manufacturers Association. ABA also reiterated that there has not been a formal data collection effort to accurately determine and review the use of diacetyl in the baking industry. Further, while there is an increased awareness of diacetyl usage in food flavorings, there is still no evidence of incidence or pattern of diacetyl-associated illness in general food manufacturing.

ABA Comments on Sanitary Food Transportation Act FDA Logo
This week, ABA, in conjunction with six other interested stakeholders, submitted joint comments in response to FDA's advance notice of proposed rulemaking regarding implementation of the Sanitary Food Transportation Act of 2005.

All co-signers of the comments letter represent companies that contribute to the manufacture, processing, distribution and transportation of food products sold in the United States and have a strong commitment to the safety of America's food.
