Greetings! |

This month we want to begin to focus on CT version 5.0. which will be released by the end of this year. The new version will focus on enhancing two areas of the software:
- importing electronic carrier statements
- reconciling carrier statements
In this newsletter we are giving you the opportunity to help us test the carrier statement import functionality. We have just completed giving CT the ability to import electronic carrier statements. Currently, the import will only work with excel spreadsheets. The new statement import screen allows you to configure CT and "teach" it how to read your specific electronic carrier statement. For example, CT needs to know which column contains the Policy #, Premium Amount, Commission Amount, etc... The problem is that every carrier statement has a different format. If you want to be sure that version 5.0 will be able to import your electronic statements, we need to test an example of each different format. Please email examples to: support@commission-tracker.com. We will evaluate each format and test it in version 5.0. Please make sure the first row of the spreadsheet contains the column names. Also, we only need a few rows, not the entire spreadsheet. |
No Backup? - That Is SCARY!!! |
You should make a BACKUP of your CT database daily. First you need to locate the database. To locate your database, open CT and go to the "Tools -> Options" menu. CT will ask for a password. The default password is "password". The next screen will display your "Database Location" folder. Make a note of the location of this folder and exit CT completely. If you have a network version of CT you must close CT on every computer where it has been installed, including your own computer. Next using Windows or your favorite backup software, make a copy of this entire folder. |
