"So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, and shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth." "I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins." (Matthew 13:49-50; John 8:24)

These are frightening warnings of the absolute certainty of the Judgment Day. In a world that wants to ignore eternity and deny accountability, these are unpopular verses; nevertheless, they are true and faithful sayings. All who die in the guilt of sin will definitely be judged some day. It is an absolute certainty. A day of accountability is coming. "So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come forth, separate the wicked from among the just." Those who die before this day will also face judgment. "It is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment" (Hebrews 9:27).

The place of the Judgment Day will be the great white throne. " And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."  Revelation 20:11-15 (KJV)

Sin is a spiritual crime against God. The true and living God is eternal. He is the great "I AM" Therefore, the consequences of sin are also eternal. Thus, all unbelievers, with the devil that deceived them, will be "cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever." Revelation 20:10 (KJV) The ultimate torment of hell will be separation from God's presence for eternity. "These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord" (2 Thessalonians 1:9).

"The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." "And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand." Romans 6:23; John 3:16; John 10:28
