TelemaYou Can Know and Practice the Intimate Presence of Christ in Daily Living

Giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 5:20

A thankful spirit, both for the good and the difficult, is an attitude that can be cultivated by the grace of God. This attitude of gratitude is one of the important indicators of the believers maturity in Christ. God has willed to make known to you what are the riches of His glory: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Colossians 1:27

"I thank Thee, God, that all our joy is touched with pain, that shadows fall on brightest hours, that thorns remain; So that earth's bliss may be our guide, and not our chain. I thank Thee, Lord, that Thou has kept the best in store; We have enough but not too much to long for more - a yearning for a deeper peace not known before." - Adelaide A. Porter

A prayer like this requires a life that knows and practices the intimate presence of God in daily living. Read again the entire psalm of the sons of Korah in Psalm 46 and be rest assured of the intimate presence of God in your daily struggles. "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea." Psalms 46:1-2

A grateful person is a happy pilgrim bound to receive all of the promises of God in Christ Jesus - if not in time in eternity. Become increasingly aware of God's present help in your day to day struggles. Practice singing the words of thanks expressed to God in the following hymn:

Thanks to God for my Redeemer,
Thanks for all Thou dost provide!
Thanks for times now but a memory,
Thanks for Jesus by my side!
Thanks for pleasant, balmy springtime,
Thanks for dark and stormy fall!
Thanks for tears by now forgotten,
Thanks for peace within my soul!

Thanks for prayers that Thou hast answered,
Thanks for what Thou dost deny!
Thanks for storms that I have weathered,
Thanks for all Thou dost supply!
Thanks for pain, and thanks for pleasure,
Thanks for comfort in despair!
Thanks for grace that none can measure,
Thanks for love beyond compare!

Thanks for roses by the wayside,
Thanks for thorns their stems contain!
Thanks for home and thanks for fireside,
Thanks for hope, that sweet refrain!
Thanks for joy and thanks for sorrow,
Thanks for heav'nly peace with Thee!
Thanks for hope in the tomorrow,
Thanks through all eternity!
