Foot Facts - Plantar Fasciitis
This very common condition, one of the primary causes of heel pain, is both treatable and preventable.  The classic symptoms include heel pain that is most severe first thing in the morning or when rising after sitting for a long time.  Untreated, this condition often leads to the development of heel spurs.

The two main treatment concepts involve addressing the cause of the condition and decreasing inflammation.  To do this, your doctor will often prescribe stretching and exercise to lengthen the plantar fascia and the calf muscles and recommend you never go barefoot on hard surfaces. Your doctor may also suggest taking anti-inflammatory medications to provide temporary relief of the symptoms.  Other, less conservative, treatments by your physician may include cortisone injections, shock wave therapy and surgery.

One of the most reliable and conservative treatments to both relieve and prevent plantar fasciitis is custom foot orthotics. With properly made orthotics over 90% of patients will experience significant to total pain relief assuming the orthotics are used fairly soon after the onset of symptoms.

Foot Solutions produces the most effective custom biomechanical orthotics known to the medical community.  See below for more information about our new CBAS.
Custom Biomechanical Arch Support (CBAS) Orthotics
CBAS and footThis new technology for orthotics gives you optimal support, more comfort and better performance than other types, including those we have made in the past.  Recent scientific literature affirms the superiority of these custom full contact orthotics vs. conventional orthotics.

CBAS orthotics can be made for most types of shoes and have been shown in some cases to reverse flexible deformities of the foot (such as bunions and hammertoes) and restore normal joint function -- a claim no other orthotics can make.  These are not for everyone but if you want the best or have unique needs, they may be for you.

Even if you think you've tried everything orthotic-wise, you haven't.  CBAS orthotics can help many people who haven't been helped before.  We invite you to come in and learn more.
