Someone attempted to bully me recently. As I was reversing out of a parking space in a small lot, a service van came flying around the corner to a dead stop, directly behind me. He obviously expected me to pull all the way back in to accommodate his speedy passage, honking the horn to ensure I got his point.
What he failed to realize was that he was the one driving around with his company name and phone number posted in large print on the side of his truck -- I was not.
That same day, I watched someone else zipping along the freeway, weaving in and out of traffic in an effort to get where he was going as quickly as possible, regardless of speed limits, road condition and any other vehicles around him.
As he flew by me, I caught sight of his business name and phone number on his back windshield -- if I had driven a little faster, I would have been able to tell what kind of personal training he offered. I doubt it had anything to do with safety or courtesy.
We think we are anonymous when we are in our cars, so we sing to the music, grimace at our thoughts, scream to release tension or laugh out loud for no reason. But sometimes people may be aware of a whole lot more than you realize!
