When sending an email to a group of people, be aware that how you send your message may disclose personal information to everyone else. - Is it acceptable for every recipient to know the name and email address of all the other people who also received your message?
- Would it be appropriate for them to email each other?
- While you may know every person on your distribution list, will everyone else feel as comfortable having their private information made known without their permission?
If you answer no to any of these questions, or even hesitate at the thought, then respect the privacy of those you are emailing and use the BCC function for your message.
The "Blind Carbon Copy" function can be used to hide email addresses so that you don't disclose personal information to all of the other recipients. By placing your email address in the "TO" box and listing the addresses of those you wish to message in the BCC box, you can send a group email while ensuring that private information is not forwarded all across the Internet ... at least by you.

Remember...
When it comes to communicating
through email and the telephone, it is important to show courtesy and respect
through your choice of words and behavior. Don't let familiarity generate laziness.
