Etiquette Awareness

Tips, suggestions and stories...

Things to keep in mind as you interact with others

"Etiquette is not about being 'stuffy.'   It's about putting yourself forward in the best possible way, using courtesy to others as your guide, while still allowing your own personality to shine!"

If you are attending an event where there is going to be a guest speaker, send an email to that person a day or two ahead of time to introduce yourself and let him or her know why you are looking forward to the occasion.

If you have a website, make sure you include that information in your signature line (you should be doing this anyway!)   It is very likely that the recipient will take a moment to look you up, out of sheer curiosity alone.

At the event, make it a point, if at all possible, to introduce yourself to the speaker in person, reminding her that you were the one that had sent the note.   She will be looking for you!

Remember...

Your friendly gesture will be appreciated (it's always nice to "know" someone in the audience during a presentation!)

You will definitely stand out from everyone else who attended ... and isn't that what you are wanting to do?
Please feel free to send me any of your
etiquette or customer service questions or stories!
