The Role of the Biologically Active Supplement Transfer Factor
in Increasing Preoperative Polychemotherapy Effectiveness
in Breast Cancer and in Decreasing Side Effects.
I.G. Tsoy, M.I. Saktaganov
Kazakh academy of nutrition, Alma-Ata
We used Transfer Factor, a biologically active supplement produced by 4Life company, USA at dosages of 1 capsule 3 times daily for 1-3 courses of treatment in conjunction with aggressive polychemotherapy treatment of breast cancer patients. We used it to determine if it would decrease the major side effects (immunohematological effects in particular). A control group of matched subjects in age and clinical forms of the disease did not receive Transfer Factor.
The use of the transfer factor immunocorrector markedly contributed to the decrease in the frequency and the severity of common polychemotherapy complications such as toxification, nausea, vomiting, anorexia, taste change and intestinal function disturbances. The dynamics, as indicated by total blood count, showed a distinct protective effect of the Transfer Factor on red blood (erythrocytes number, hemoglobin, serum iron and ESR levels) and white blood (leuko- and lymphopenia) cells. As compared to the control group the test group patients also demonstrated less frequent and less pronounced polychemotherapy complications in terms of liver function (ALT, AST, GGT and gamma-glutamyltransferase), kidney function (total urinalysis, creatinine and urea levels), and chronic pyelonephritis aggravation and other functions and in blood serum total albumen and its fractions.
According to immunological monitoring assays the test group experienced a smaller decrease of relative and absolute number of total T-lymphocytes (CD3+) circulating in peripheral blood along with their helper-inductor subpopulation (CD4+) and cells expressing receptors to IL-2 (CD25+). The increases in T-lymphocytes of suppressors and killers phenotype (CD8+) in the test group are attributable to protective effect of Transfer Factor. The ratio CD4+/CD8+ (conventional quantitative immunoregulatory index) of the test group decreased less that for the control group during the course of polychemotherapy. Also, the decrease of natural killer cells (CD16+) in peripheral blood resulting from chemotherapy was less pronounced in the patients receiving the immunoregulating transfer factor peptides. A protective effect by transfer factor on T-helpers'cell non-specific functional activity was also demonstrated in the results from the inhibition reaction of leukocytes' migration by PHA-R (phytogemagglutinin).
In the test group the levels of the main classes of immunoglobulins experienced less hypoimmunoglobulinemia, another indicator of the immunoprotective effect of Transfer Factors.

ABOUT THE HPV VACCINE
WASHINGTON, (LifeSiteNews.com) - Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, today released documents obtained from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act, detailing 1,637 reports of adverse reactions to the vaccination for human papillomavirus (HPV), Gardasil.
Three deaths were related to the vaccine. One physician's assistant reported that a female patient "died of a blood clot three hours after getting the Gardasil vaccine." Two other reports, on girls 12 and 19, reported deaths relating to heart problems and/or blood clotting.
As of May 11, 2007, the 1,637 adverse vaccination reactions reported to the FDA via the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) included 371 serious reactions. Of the 42 women who received the vaccine while pregnant, 18 experienced side effects ranging from spontaneous abortion to fetal abnormalities.
Side effects published by Merck & Co. warn the public about potential pain, fever, nausea, dizziness and itching after receiving the vaccine. Indeed, 77% of the adverse reactions reported are typical side effects to vaccinations. But other more serious side effects reported include paralysis, Bells Palsy, Guillain-Barre Syndrome, and seizures.
"The FDA adverse event reports on the HPV vaccine read like a catalog of horrors," stated Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. "Any state or local government now beset by Merck's lobbying campaigns to mandate this HPV vaccine for young girls ought to take a look at these adverse health reports. It looks as if an unproven vaccine with dangerous side effects is being pushed as a miracle drug."

Processed Meats Declared Too Dangerous For Human Consumption
The World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) has completed a detailed review of more than 7,000 clinical studies covering links between diet and cancer. Its conclusion is rocking the health world with startling bluntness: Processed meats are too dangerous for human consumption. Consumers should stop buying and eating all processed meat products for the rest of their lives.
Processed meats include bacon, sausage, hot dogs, sandwich meat, packaged ham, pepperoni, salami and virtually all red meat used in frozen prepared meals. They are usually manufactured with a carcinogenic ingredient known as sodium nitrite. This is used as a color fixer by meat companies to turn packaged meats a bright red color so they look fresh. Unfortunately, sodium nitrite also results in the formation of cancer-causing nitrosamines in the human body. And this leads to a sharp increase in cancer risk for those who eat them.
A 2005 University of Hawaii study found that processed meats increase the risk of pancreatic cancer by 67 percent. Another study revealed that every 50 grams of processed meat consumed daily increases the risk of colorectal cancer by 50 percent. These are alarming numbers. Note that these cancer risks do not come from eating fresh, non-processed meats. They only appear in people who regularly consume processed meat products containing sodium nitrite.
Sodium nitrite appears predominantly in red meat products (you won't find it in chicken or fish products). Here's a short list of food items to check carefully for sodium nitrite and monosodium glutamate (MSG), another dangerous additive:
Beef jerky Bacon Sausage Hot dogs Sandwich meat Frozen pizza with meat Canned soups with meat Frozen meals with meat Ravioli and meat pasta foods Kid's meals containing red meat Sandwich meat used at popular restaurants Nearly all red meats sold at public schools, restaurants, hospitals, hotels and theme parks
If sodium nitrite is so dangerous to humans, why do the FDA and USDA continue to allow this cancer-causing chemical to be used? The answer, of course, is that food industry interests now dominate the actions by U.S. government regulators. The USDA, for example, tried to ban sodium nitrite in the late 1970's but was overridden by the meat industry. It insisted the chemical was safe and accused the USDA of trying to "ban bacon." Today, the corporations that dominate American food and agricultural interests hold tremendous influence over the FDA and USDA. Consumers are offered no real protection from dangerous chemicals intentionally added to foods, medicines and personal care products.
You can protect yourself and your family from the dangers of processed meats by following a few simple rules: Always read ingredient labels. Don't buy anything made with sodium nitrite or monosodium glutamate.Don't eat red meats served by restaurants, schools, hospitals, hotels or other institutions.
And finally, eat more fresh produce with every meal. There is evidence that natural vitamin C found in citrus fruits and exotic berries (like camu camu) helps prevent the formation of cancer-causing nitrosamines, protecting you from the devastating health effects of sodium nitrite in processed meats. The best defense, of course, is to avoid eating processed meats altogether. |
Grape seed extract comes from the seed of grapes. Studies have shown that grape seed extract is high in antioxidants that are able to counteract cell damage in the body that is caused by free radicals. Free radicals are active molecules that can cause cell damage as they roam about and multiply in the body. A new study has recently shown that over three-quarters of leukemia cells in a laboratory setting died within 24 hours of being exposed to grape seeds. In fact, they actually killed themselves and other healthy cells were left unharmed. These study results are currently appearing in the January 1 issue of Clinical Cancer Research.
The recent study focusing on grape seed extract and leukemia cells was performed at the University of Kentucky. Researchers report that the extract activates JNK, which is a protein that regulates the cell-signaling pathway that leads to the death of cells (apoptosis).
These results mean that grape seed extract may be effective in both the prevention and treatment of hematological malignancies and other cancers as well. These study results also support previous studies that have shown that diets high in fruits and vegetables can help prevent the development of many cancers.
The leukemia cells were exposed to a commercially-available grape seed extract in varying amounts. The higher amounts caused more leukemia cells to die and did not affect normal, healthy cells in the same setting.
The extract became ineffective, however, when researchers added an agent to it that stopped the JNK protein or when genetic engineering was used to stop the JNK gene.
Grape seed extract has been found to be effective for treating conditions related to the heart and blood vessels, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and conditions associated with poor circulation. Grape seed extract can also help improve complications associated with diabetes, vision problems, and swelling incurred from injuries and surgeries. One of the most encouraging and interesting effects from grape seed extract, however, is its ability to promote wound healing and prevent some cancers.
There are numerous studies being funded and conducted presently about grape seed extract's effectiveness in the treatment and prevention of various cancers, including breast and prostate cancers.
Grape seed extract is typically tolerated well when taken orally. Grape seed extract is available in both capsule and tablet form. When used in clinical trials, it has been used without incident for up to eight weeks. Some side effects reported, however, include headache, dry scalp, dizziness, and nausea.
Interactions between grape seed extract and other medications or supplements have not been studied extensively. For this reason, always fully disclose all supplementary or alternative health products being used with any health care professionals involved in one's care.
