Greetings!

CREDO Conferences

to resume in April

Jill Mathis

Two CREDO conferences in April--one for retired clergy and one for lay employees--kick off the 2011 conference season, April 4-11.

CREDO plans 27 eight-day conferences this year for plan participants in the Episcopal Church Pension Plan.

Church Pension Fund board approves multi-year funding for CREDO

On February 17, the Church Pension Fund Board of Trustees approved a three-year funding plan for CREDO Institute, Inc. for 2013-15. The funding continues CPG's support for CREDO's principal mission to address the health and wellness of clergy pension plan participants. CREDO has hosted more than 230 conferences on health and wellness and reached more than 5,500 Episcopal Church pension plan participants through the foundational eight-day conference.

Long-serving as an agent for individual discernment and transformation through the CREDO Benefit for pension plan participants, CREDO itself is moving through a cycle of change. Through surveys in 2010 of people who have been invited but not attended a CREDO conference as well as former conference participants, CREDO has discerned significant interest in three-day and five-day conferences. Many respondents expressed interest in single or dual component conferences, with spiritual-focused conferences of greatest interest.

During 2011, CREDO has 27 eight-day conferences on the calendar. In 2012, CREDO plans to continue the eight-day conferences through CREDO I, CREDO II, CREDO for Retired Clergy, and Spanish CREDO. New conference models and resources will be developed to reach more plan participants and to increase contact points with plan participants who have attended CREDO I and CREDO II.

Lenten Letters

Daily reminders of transformation

IDPT graphicDuring Lent, CREDO will circulate Lenten Letters. These daily e-mails are reminiscent of letters in both form and content: They are our way of connecting with you during the Lenten season, and they're based on the call letters IDPT, signifying Identity, Discernment, Practice, and Transformation, the core principles of the CREDO mission and pillars upon which the CREDO Conference experience is based.

Each day from Ash Wednesday until Easter, you will receive an e-mail with a short reflection tied to IDPT. This season offers us an opportunity to look with intention at these areas in our lives. It is our hope that Lenten Letters will provide new perspectives for clarity. The series of daily reflections is available to anyone you know who would like to sign up.  Access to the sign-up page is HERE

HEALTH
Are We Ever Too Old for Lullabies?

National Sleep Awareness Week

sleep awarenessOne aspect of abundant living that is so good for us, doesn't cost anything, we usually don't get enough of, and we take for granted unless it doesn't occur naturally, is sleep. And one tip you may recall from your CREDO Conference is that sleep is essential and restorative to our daily function of mind/body/spirit.

However, the constant and chronic demands of life may rob us of sufficient, quality rest. National Sleep Awareness WeekŪ takes place March 7-13, 2011, and is an annual public education and awareness campaign to promote the importance of sleep.  Check out all the features of this important site, including sleep songs, movies and music!
