Celebrate your Sweetheart with Cheese, Chocolate & a Platter Made for Two
Valentine's Day is a holiday for lovers. And, we love cheese! To honor this love, we're bringing in new cheeses & chocolates as well as designing signature gifts for you and your loved one.
A new favorite is Old Apple Tree Tomme from Estrella Family Creamery in Washington. This raw cow milk cheese changes with the seasons. Through the spring and summer the wheels are wrapped in leaves marinated in apple brandy. In the fall and winter the cheese is simply washed in the brandy.
What pairs great with cheese? Why, chocolate of course! Humbolt Fog & a Vosages Chocolate Bar make the perfect duo. Looking for something even more decadent? Local pastry chef extraordinaire, Jack Fisher, has introduced a line of bon bons that are sure to titillate your palate with flavors like Meyor Lemon and Passion Fruit. These boxes of handmade treats will be available at both shops beginning February 9th.
What better way to celebrate romance (or maybe a best friend) than with a platter made for two. We've combined some spectacular cheeses with suitable accoutrements (think figs & chocolate) guaranteed to put you both in the mood for amore! Pre-order online or give us a call. (We're happy to custom design too!) |

Sensational Spanish Cheeses - Ole! This month Venissimo is celebrating fine artisanal cheeses from Spain. With more than 100 varieties, Spain is one of the largest producers of cheese in the world. With this in mind, we're showcasing some of our favorites as well as a few great new varieties.
Spanish cheeses are great to snack on, make the perfect accompaniment to paella (click here for a fabulous recipe) or can liven up a tapas party. Cow, sheep or goat, hard or soft, they'll make you want to say - ole! Try the every popular Manchego, a hard cheese made from sheeps milk and classically paired with quince paste. Or Queso Leonora, a soft goat cheese with a slight tang and hints of citrus. And if you're feeling really adventurous (we hope you are!), check out Pau, a rare washed rind cheese from Barcelona. Try it with spanish marcona almonds and a glass of Rioja and you've got a true taste sensation!
We'd love to help you create the ultimate Spanish experience and fall in love with the cheeses of Spain as we have! |

Meet the Venissimo Family At Venissimo, we consider our staff part of the family. In order for you to get to know them, we thought it would be fun to feature one of the Venissimo cheeseheads in this edition.
FEATURED CHEESEHEAD:
SAM, SISTER OF SAINT AGUR One of the newest members of the Venissimo management team (welcome!), Sam is a true lover of cheese. And with this love comes an insatiable desire to learn and share new cheese facts. Need to know something about cheese? Just ask Sam. What feuls her fromage frenzy? We decided to ask:
"I love everything about cheese! But, what I love most is that I can experience a piece of history through cheese. Each cheese has it's own unique story to tell; from the grass the animals were fed on to the recipes used to create each cheese. I have never met a cheese I didn't like! I love sharing this history and knowledge with others. It is truly my life's passion! " |

Thanks for loving cheese!
