Greetings! It is with immense excitement that we announce the opening of our second location in Del Mar at the Flower Hill Mall (I-5 & Via de la Valle)! This is a lovely shop at which we carry select bottles of wine to pair with your favorite fromage. We offer many of the same great products as in Mission Hills (such as $5 cheese sandwiches & hand-stuffed blue cheese olives) plus some new delights (such as Vosges chocolate & truffle sea salt). Stop by to say hello & grab something new... |

cheesemaker of the month ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This month we are celebrating glorious goudas
(pronounced HOW-duh if you are Dutch)! From the
velvet creaminess of amsterdam reserve to the powerful
sherry-like finish of noord hollander, the gouda family
has something for everyone.
While gouda is made predominately of cow milk, goat & sheep varieties abound (our favorites being balarina goat gouda & the sweet ewephoria. Goudas are especially well-suited with classic ales & lagers - perfect for football season! |

events & tastings ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To sample six of our favorite goudas with fantastic
accoutrements, join us Saturday, September 29,
anytime between 2-4 p.m. in Del Mar, where we will fall
in love with goudas at our monthly tasting event!
The cost is only $8 (free for former Aniata club members - new club to be announced) & it's a great way to relax with friends on a splendid autumn afternoon. We provide the cheese, accoutrements & tasting notes for you to enjoy. |

Oh boy... the Spanish have done it again with
veigadarte, a soft-ripened cheese made from
the blended milk of three types of goats. This log has
a layer of ash on the outside, with a gooey inner ring
the riper it gets. It is currently available in Mission
Hills, so stop in before this one gets away. Also grab
a nibble of blue paradise from Hook's family
farm in Wisconsin. This blue is crumbly & super
tangy, perfect with fall's vegetables. Lastly, we have
Italian tuada, a sheep milk beauty that
recently won the Mountain Cheese Olympics!
Hope to see you soon!
