Greetings!
By popular demand, we are offering "Tuesday Tech Talks". Many of you have asked us to do more technology related classes, and that's what we now have! All the "Tech Talks" are hands-on using our laptops. The classes are limited to 20 people, so register right away. See below for more details.
I would also like to thank everyone who responded to our survey we sent out. Many of you indicated you would be interested in one-on-one business counseling. Western Dairyland offers this service free of charge to those who are in our service area (Eau Claire, Buffalo, Trempeleau, and Jackson Counties). If you don't have much business owning experience, we highly suggest you start with one of our business basics trainings. If you are a current business owner, we can also help you one-on-one with your business. Interested parties in or out of our service area should respond to this email and we can get you pointed in the right direction.
Just a quick reminder to mark your calendars for our Tuesday Tech Talk each month on the first tuesday from 7-9pm in Eau Claire. Also, our Women's Networking Meetings on the second Tuesday of every month from 11-1pm. The structure of this meeting is very flexible, so please come if you can only make a portion of the 11-1 time frame (see below for more details).

Wisconsin Common Market News and Tips:
"Link It Up!"
Beyond the fact that a link from one site to another may direct Internet traffic from the former to the latter, the number of total links to a particular website or web page is a major factor in how the search engines themselves catalog and rank a website or web page. The more links pointing to you, the more popular you appear to be in the eyes of the search engines. So, what should you do?
First, see who might already be linking to your web site or web page. An easy way to do this is to go to http://www.linkpopularity.com and simply type in your web address. You will then be able to see how many (and, which) inbound links each of the major search engines have recognized for you.
Next, after you know who might already be linking to you, it is time to identify who is not linking to you - but should be! Start by making a list of sites belonging to clients, vendors, associations, friends and colleagues who may be willing to link to your web site or web page.
Then, ask! Be prepared for the fact that they may want you to return the favor by linking back to their site. If you are tapped out on people you know, then start trolling for free local and industry specific directories. But, be cautious when exchanging links with sites that you do not know personally. Exchanging links with a disreputable site may actually damage your image.

FEATURED BUSINESS: evolve wellness, LLC
"Make Your Fitness Mobile"
Frustrated with gym memberships, commuting, crowds, and distractions during your workout? The Chippewa Valley has an exciting new alternative: in-home and mobile Personal Training services with Evolve Wellness, LLC.
Cheri Harrison, Certified Personal Trainer, founded evolve wellness, LLC in the summer of 2007. With over 5 years of hands-on industry experience, Cheri has found that people want these things when it comes to their fitness and health needs; comfort, convenience, and most importantly individualized service.
"I have a passion for educating and empowering people to live well", Cheri says. "I believe fitness is a lifestyle. When I see someone willing to learn and actively pursue their goals, I feel very grateful for the career path I have chosen".

Cheri, being a young entrepreneur starting her company at age 25, says, "I owe my parents a big thank you, as they have been self-employed for over 30 years. They have given me the strong work ethic, persistence, and confidence I need to continue to grow this business".
