Flower Essence Society

lily

The Flower Essence Society is an international membership organization of health practitioners, researchers, students, and others interested in deepening knowledge of flower essence therapy. Here at AnimalSave, we use flower essences to calm fearful animals. We find flower essences to be quite successful in reducing anxiety and fear in rescued animals.

fromCarolynGreetings!
I'd like to share a story about how happy endings manifest when the conditions are perfect.

Moose the lucky dog.Kirk is in the Air Force and recently learned he is being deployed to the Middle East. He came to AnimalSave looking for help placing his 4-month old puppy, Moose. Kirk realized that keeping a puppy who needs training and socialization was not going to be possible.

Stephanie
, one of our program information volunteers, took his information and assured him we would find his puppy a good home. Kirk an
d Moose left hoping we would indeed be able to help them.

Before Stephanie could begin calling people who are on our list of folks wanting to
adopt, Patty walked in, looking to adopt a puppy to love and have as a companion. Stephanie talked to her about Moose, called Kirk, and within a short time they were all back at AnimalSave.

Patty and Moose fell instantly in love. Kirk was sad about giving Moose up, but was happy about finding a good home for him. Patty made a neuter appointment for Moose and was off with her new friend. The timing for all of this could not have been better for all concerned.

Congratulations to Patty and Moos
e. Thank you to Kirk for serving our country. Kudos to Stephanie for her dedication and good intention that Moose would find the perfect home.

These little miracles happen everyday here at
AnimalSave!

Thank You, Dr. Trapani!

Michael Trapani has been our dedicated Mobile Spay/Neuter Clinic surgeon for over a year and a half. He has spayed/neutered over 2,500 dogs and cats in that time. The day we dreaded finally came when he advised us he was moving on to bigger things. He accepted a job with the ACT (Abandoned Cat Team) Spay/Neuter Clinic in Stockton. There he will oversee a large program and be able to use his talents in organization and high volume spay/neuter surgery. We will miss Dr. Trapani and appreciate the time he gave to us.

DreamBeds
Dreamy Dream Beds

Testing her new bed.   Doggie on designer dog bed.
Pickle the Pit Bull Terrier models the small bed;
Pickle not included with bed.

Every dog dreams of a bed like this. And now, thanks to designers/ AnimalSave members Loretta O'Brien and Alan Lee*, your doggie can sleep or lounge in style while you help AnimalSave.

Filled with sterilized recycled padding, the beds are cold water washable, with removable covers. Covers are sewn with artfully chosen scraps from furniture projects. They were created and donated specifically for AnimalSave to sell on behalf of the many dogs in need of homes ... and they'll give your pooch a nice place to rest his paws.

Come see them! The beds are available at AnimalSave, 520 E. Main Street, Grass Valley. Large beds (40" x 25") are $50. Small beds (35" x 22") are $35. All proceeds go to AnimalSave.

*Designers Loretta O'Brien and Alan Lee live on the coast in Montara with their two rescued dogs, Alex and Chapala.

WagWalk
Wag 'n' Walk & Bark-B-Que

Now an Annual Event!

On Saturday, June 5, we'll have our 2nd annual Wag 'n' Walk & Bark-B-Que (WWBBQ). The event was so well received last year, we decided to make it an annual celebration!

The WWBBQ will feature food and confections from Lazy Dog Ice Cream, and games for dogs and their people. We'll also have AKC Canine Good Citizenship Testing, obedience and agility demonstrations, vendors, artists, music, and a costume contest for your dogs. In addition, Purpose Ranch's mini-horses will be back!

Be sure to mark your calendars so you and your dog(s) don't miss this fun-filled day. We'll be looking for volunteers to help on the day of the event; next  month's eNewsletter will list the jobs we need help with to make this year's WWBBQ a success.

always
Always.

Lacey, an affectionate older Tuxedo cat, was found thin and starving at Rollins Lake by two sisters from Colorado last October. Leaving her to die was out of the question, so they brought her to AnimalSave.

Lacey died peacefully in her sleep on January 18.  She spent her last 3 months in a warm home with plentiful food and lots of love from her foster mom, Patricia, plus the company of other feline friends.

Thank you to Patricia for providing hospice care for Lacey. And thank you to all who donated toward Lacey's food and veterinary care, along with everyone who donates to the AnimalSave Foster Adoption Program. Because of your time and generosity we're able to help cats like Lacey, and continue our good work for the animals.
