Greetings!
Thanks to all of you who made the 2009 Santa Paws Auction so
enjoyable and such a success. The
crowd was bigger than last year and it was good to see so many supporters and
friends of AnimalSave. The evening was filled with good cheer, entertainment,
food, refreshments and vigorous bidding on an incredible selection of
generously donated auction items.
Thanks to all of you who made the 2009 Santa Paws Auction a great event.
This past month as Interim Executive Director, has been a
whirlwind of activity as we end 2009 and begin 2010. I appreciate the confidence and support I have received from
AnimalSave's Board of Directors, staff, clients, donors, colleagues and the
many volunteers who carry out our important work for the animals. Thank you for the e-mails, phone calls
and personal visits expressing your willingness to lend a hand as we move into
an exciting new year for AnimalSave.

Cold Weather Tips
Brrrr...it's cold outside! Tips to help you protect your companion animals when the mercury dips.
- Keep your cat inside. Outdoors, felines can freeze, become lost or be stolen, injured or killed
- Never let your dog off the leash on snow or ice, especially during a snowstorm-dogs can lose their scent and easily become lost
- Never leave your dog or cat alone in a car during cold weather. A car
can act as a refrigerator in the winter, holding in the cold and
causing the animal to freeze to death
- Make sure your companion animal has a warm place to sleep, off the
floor and away from all drafts. A cozy dog or cat bed with a warm
blanket or pillow is perfect.

Dog of the Month
Molly needs a place to go asap! Her mom
can no longer keep her due to health issues.
Molly is a very sweet and
sensitive dog that loves people and is good around
children and other dogs (she does
have protective food issues). She loves to
go for walks and really loves to
hike and swim. Can be left alone in the house
by herself but really loves it
when you come back home. She is very funny
and quite smart. She would do well
in a home that has someone home most
of the time. Travels well in a
crate. She's spayed, current on her shots and is 4 years old
