New Webcam at Siping!
As many of you may know we have been having "issues" with the Siping webcam. We are pleased to say that is behind us and we now have an even better webcam with streaming video so it looks just like a normal TV broadcast. No delays and jerky motions (well...except for the occasional "oops" when someone moves the camera)!
We will have it available to everyone who reads our newsletters on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week from 9:20pm to 9:50pm EDT. Just CLICK HERE to go to the webcam site. After you are there click on the play button if it does not start automatically. If it says "offline" at the bottom of the screen then you are trying to view the webcam at a time other than the designated times of the broadcast.
After this week a password will once again be needed to view the webcam. For those of you that are already sponsors of the children in the Center you will use the password you already have. For any new sponsors, you will receive a password when we receive your sponsorship notification by email.
This is a wonderful way for everyone to be able to see the children at play, and witness the benefits of the good care that the Center staff provides every day.

Busy Month at the Siping Center
June was a busy month at the Center. On June 12, Chang RongMeng and Chang RongZhuo were taken back to their orphanage; they are now big girls, healthy, funny, chubby and happy. The Nannies called ZhouZhou, "flying bird", as she would stretch her arms and whoop fast to you in her walking car as you called to her "Zhuo Zhuo; Zhuo Zhuo". Sometimes, she was so happy that with her big smile she would fly over to you, and give you a big kiss and leave you with a wet face! We all loved to get her kiss. We all called MengMeng an "all-able-girl", she was the strongest girl we ever had at the Center. Her little body was so flexible, she was always moving all over the house like a tail after the Nannies. She was busy and always doing things. We will miss both the girls, but are always happy when a child is healthy enough to return to their orphanage.
Also, Wen Bo, who arrived at the age of 9 months after surgery by Dr. Lazareff and has been here for four years now, has moved to an American foster family in Beijing. They have a group of kids his age so he will be very happy there. His teacher and Nannies were all in tears when he left, but are happy with his new home as he can receive an education with his age group there...but they are all missing his laugh and talking all the time! Everything reminds them of Bobo!
Li Chao also left the Center and met her new mom in Beijing. She is now home in the United States with her mom and beginning her new life. Everyone at the Siping Center was glad to have been able to play a part in seeing that Li Chao found her new family.
While many tears are shed and it is hard for the nannies to see the children leave, they know that they must. As the children leave the nannies know that they have done their part to see that these children have a chance at a good and healthy life. They rejoice in seeing the success of their work and they thank you all for giving them your support through your contributions.

Some Children Go.... New Children Arrive
As the nannies were saying good bye to some of the children, new children were arriving. We had 5 new children arrive in the month of June. The new arrivals are: (You can see more about them by clicking on their names)
Unfortunately, the fifth child to enter the Center in June did not survive. Chang DeLei arrived on June 12 in critical condition. His height: 41.7cm; weight 2kg; chest 30cm; head 36cm. He was a premature baby, with several birth defects, including dislocated hips, clubbed feet, and deformed chest. His skull was malformed also. DeLei never cried, or even whimpered. He was never able to take any milk; the Nannies tried to feed him a drop at a time. DeLei stayed with us until June 26 when he passed away at 1:30 in the afternoon at the Siping hospital. There were simply so many things wrong with his little body that there was no way to fix them. All we could do was love him for the short time he was here. As the Nannies care for the new arrivals and mourn the death of Chang DeLei, we must remember that there are many more children that we are not able to help. The orphanages around Siping and Changchun have asked us to take more of their children that need critical care but we cannot. The funds are simply not there. We hope that we can receive additional sponsors so the Changchun Center can be reopened and the Siping Center expanded. There are many more Chang DeLei's that need your help. Many may not survive.

Lemonade Sales for Siping Center
Rion, Sophie and Pressley Smith had a lemonade stand this summer and donated the money they made to our foster care Center in Siping. They made $63! Their parents, Greg and Kim Smith, are very proud of them and so are we. This money will provide much needed formula for the new babies at the Center. Thank you Rion, Sophie and Pressley!
