Shui YiLi - Taken to Hospital
Shui YiLi was born on August 10, 2007 and has been living in an orphanage since then. She was said to be a premature baby. Although the orphanage staff say she takes as much formula as the other babies, she weighs only 8.25 pounds and is 20.8 inches long now and is 6 months old. She is most definitely failing to thrive. As soon as Hannah heard about her, she instructed one of our nannies to take her from the orphanage and we admitted her to the hospital for tests. We are waiting for the results; in the meantime, Nanny Feng is taking care of her as only she can do! She has the most experience of our nannies in cases such as this, and worked wonders with QiQi when he first arrived.
YiLi's hands and feet were swollen when she arrived at the hospital. They were the only parts of her little body that appeared to be full. This precious little one is in such poor condition. We hope she will be as lucky as ZhangQi.
And so we continue to bring little ones in need to our Centers...and the bills continue to add up. We have told Hannah not to worry; if a child needs to go to the hospital we do not want her to stop and think about the money. If a child needs help there is no time to wait and see if we will be able to raise the funds. It is all a leap of faith.
But how can we think about the money when we see a child like YiLi?

Painting Auction to Benefit Centers
You can participate in out first painting auction!
We have an original painting by Mandy Riley Spencer. The painting is initialed on the front but signed and dated on the back. Painted in oils on a slick acid free paper. The painting itself measures 12x14 3/4, matted to hold 11x14, with frame 15x19. The painting is matted in white with a black gallery style frame.
This painting represents the Chinese Proverb: An invisible red thread connects those destined to meet, regardless of time, place, or circumstance. The thread may stretch or tangle, but will never break.
Mandy has offered to pay for the shipping, so that all proceeds will benefit the children in our foster care Centers. This beautiful painting would certainly be a wonderful gift for Mother's Day (which will be here before you know it!), or to hang in your child-to-be's room. The auction ends March 5, so don't delay!
Please help support the Centers with your bids on this painting. We are so grateful to Mandy for her generosity! Here is the link to the painting...happy bidding!

Fundraising Cookbook
Thanks to everyone who sent in recipes for our cookbook fund raiser. We have received about 65 recipes of some really great sounding dishes but we need more. To make it a viable fundraiser we need at least 35 more recipes.
It is really very simple to do. Just go to the COOKBOOK page on our web site and enter your favorite recipe or recipes. Send as many as you would like. It doesn't mater if you think you are a great cook or not, just send us what your family likes. We have had such wonderfully named recipes as Funky's Pub Potato Soup , Frog-eye Salad , and Czechoslovakian Cookies.
So go to your kitchen, pull out that great recipe that the kids ask you to cook all the time and send it to us by CLICKING HERE!
You will be helping the kids in China and we can all have some fun doing it.

Thank You!
To those of you that have stepped forward to sponsor a child we want to say thank you although we know a thank you is just not enough for the generosity you have shown.
The webcam at the Siping Center is working great. Just go over to our site at Bringing Hope to Children, sponsor a child, and you can see the kids at the Center in real time.
