Updates on All the Kids!

Go to our site at Bringing Hope to Children (just click on each child's name) and see updates and new photos on all the children in the Siping and Changchun Centers.  You will be able to see the progress they have all made since the last update.

The most amazing change is in Zhang Qi.  You will remember he is the little baby with cleft lip and palate that was brought to our Siping Center from the Siping Orphanage.  He was very nearly starved to death at that point.  Take a look at his new photos and you will not believe your eyes.  The nannies at the Siping Center have worked a miracle with him.

Post Placement Reports

Please remember to send in your post placement reports as near the due dates as possible.

China:

All China post placement reports are due at 6 months and 12 months after your adoption is completed. These reports must be done by your social worker. The information about these reports and the cover sheet can be found on our site at http://iaapcenter.ipbhost.com .

Vietnam:

Your post placement reports are due every 6 months for the first three years after your adoption.  It is not necessary for these to be done by a social worker. We have the required form for you at http://iaapcenter.ipbhost.com.

After the first three years a report is due once a year until the child reaches the age of 18.

For those of you with overdue reports for Vietnam we must have them by February 4.  The Vietnamese government has asked us about overdue reports and are requiring they be sent immediately.
Vietnam

We are continuing to be optimistic that both Vietnam and the United States will sign the extension of the MOU (Memorandum of Understanding)in March.  All agencies working in Vietnam are working together with the JCICS to create a Standards of Best Practice and a fee schedule for all agencies to sign.  This will be presented to the Vietnamese government and the US government in February.  The Department of State has said that this will help as they make their decision.

Join Us in Creating a Cookbook

We are starting a cookbook fund-raising project that we think will be a lot of fun for everyone and will provide funding for the Siping and Changchun Centers. We want this to be a project for all to join. You do not need to have adopted a child, be in the process of adopting or even thinking about it. If you have a recipe you would like to share you are welcome here.

After all the recipes are in and the books ready to publish, we will have information on how you can purchase one cookbook (or a dozen) for yourself or gifts.

CLICK HERE to go to our site and you will see a form to submit your favorite recipe. It has a place to type the recipe and also a place for you to add a personal story if you like (it is not required). Your story could be that Great Great Grandma Emma gave this recipe to you and made you promise not to share it with any of those ungrateful relatives of yours. Or it might be a story about your adoption journey that you think others might enjoy. Along with your story you can upload a photo of you, your family, your children, your dog, or maybe the completed recipe so others can see how delicious it looks. We leave this open to your imagination.

I almost forgot...this cookbook is not only for recipes for "American food" but also any recipes you may have picked up for dishes from your child's birth country or in your travels.

So join us in putting together a cookbook of great recipes that we can all share and at the same time help out the children in the Centers.

Tian Tian
For those of you that donated to Tian Tian's surgery we want you to know that she is doing much better now. For the first time, her head is a normal size...and she is alert, aware, and ready to make up for lost time!

You can see new photos of her and read more about how she is doing by CLICKING HERE.

She has made remarkable progress thanks to your help.

New Waiting Children
Please check out our current waiting children.  You can see them at our site at http://iaapcenter.ipbhost.com .  We have added three children from Southeast Asia.  Two of them have been waiting a long time for families.

As always pass this information on to anyone that may be interested.

Thank You!

To those of you that have stepped forward to sponsor a child we want to say thank you although we know a thank you is just not enough for the generosity you have shown.

To those who have not yet sponsored a child we invite you to visit with these children at http://bringinghopetochildren.org/children/china.html. Take a look at the progress some of these children have made.  You can help this continue with a very small donation!

We are in the process of setting up a webcam at the Siping Center for you to see the centers live!  Everyone who donates to sponsor a child will be granted access to the webcam and you can see the children you sponsor every day.  We may still be a few weeks away from having this on line but when it is working it will be fantastic to see!

Just go over to our site at Bringing Hope to Children, sponsor a child, and you can be a participant.

Dick and Cheryl Graham

Sincerely,
