Update  - Tian Tian
December 19, 2007

before surgeryTianTian has finally had her surgery in Beijing. She is now in the ICU, and will remain there until her heart rate returns to normal. It has been rather high since she came out of the operating room. We are waiting for a report from the surgeons to hear what they found during her surgery, and if they were able to accomplish all they had hoped. The photos of Tian were taken shortly before she was taken to surgery, and soon after the surgery was finished. Please keep this little one in your thoughts and prayers during the next several days. We are so thankful to those of you who graciously donated to her surgery fund. You have given TianTian a chance for a healthy future. Now we must wait and hope for the best.

Nguyen Thua and Nguyen Hoang Thong
We are pleased to announce that Nguyen Thua and Nguyen Hoang Thong have at long last found their family.  These two boys are in Soc Trang Province, Vietnam.  Thua is unable to walk and Thong is blind in one eye.  Both boys have been on our waiting child list for many months.  Due to their special needs and their age (both boys are 8 years old) it has been very difficult to find a family.  They are not brothers, yet, but they have grown up together in the Soc Trang Orphanage.

These two boys and their new family are truly blessed during this Christmas season.  Let us all remember these children and the many, many other homeless children around the world who need our help this coming year.

Waiting Children in China
Wen Wen
Jiang Xu Wen

Where do I begin with the story of WenWen....we received the file from the CCAA which included a medical and orphanage report both stating that WenWen was a boy. There were two chromosome tests stating that WenWen was a girl. One cause of this genital issue in female infants is congenital adrenal hyperplasia. We do not know that this is the diagnosis for WenWen, but it is a possibility. The orphanage directors says that the initial paperwork was completed prior to the chromosome tests, and it would be "difficult to change" so the paperwork has remained incorrect. We heard from Love Without Boundaries that WenWen attends one of their schools, and is a girl. And a contact in the orphanage says that, indeed, WenWen is a girl. So...this is where we stand; Jiang XuWen, or "WenWen", is a girl by all accounts and is waiting in Changde for a family of her very own. She is a very bright and happy girl who is inquisitive, and warms to new people quickly. She loves to listen to stories and has a great imagination! WenWen may be adopted by a couple under the age of 50 who meet the requirements of the CCAA.

She ZongQiu

She ZongQiu was born on January 28, 2004. This handsome little guy is in Hunan Province. He has had corrective surgery for club feet and to repair a hernia he had at birth. He has also been diagnosed with a "squint"...which we are pretty certain is the slight strabismus he seems to have in one eye. Qiu is a happy and bright boy who loves to play games! He is waiting for a family; couples under the age of 50 who meet the requirements of the CCAA may be eligible to be his new parents. ZongQiu has been living with a foster family since last April; at that time he was unable to walk or stand unassisted. The orphanage director has not checked on him since that time so is unsure if this is still true.
