Dear Friends,

This will be a short newsletter.  We know you are all preparing for Thanksgiving tomorrow and you are either preparing the meal or traveling somewhere.

We just wanted to let you know about Tian Tian and the surgery she is facing so you can keep her in your Thanksgiving prayers.  You can read more about her below.

We also would like you to remember Shelli Young and her son Sawyer.  You may remember Shelli and Sawyer ( Cao Xiao Cao) from this past summer.  He is the son Shelli adopted from China with the giant nevus.  His condition was far worse than was known before his adoption.  He has been in a Cincinnati hospital since Monday and has been diagnosed with a brain tumor.  We know very little at this time but would like you to also keep Shelli, Sawyer and Shelli's other children in your Thanksgiving prayers as they go through these difficult times.

We hope everyone has a very happy Thanksgiving with your family and friends.

Surgery needed for TianTian
Tian Tian
TianTian has never known what it is like to be truly healthy and free of pain. She was born last March with spina bifida and hydrocephalus and was abandoned shortly after her birth. The orphanage was unable to care for her in her poor condition, so she was brought to our foster care center. When she was just a few weeks old, she received surgery to remove the meningocele from her lower spine and received a shunt to relieve the pressure on her brain. Unfortunately, this shunt failed several weeks later and became infected; it had to be replaced. More surgery for little TianTian. We were hopeful that this new shunt would work and she could finally begin to enjoy being a "healthy" baby. It was not to be. Once again her shunt began to show signs of failure; except this time her CT scan showed something different...she also had an arachnoid cyst in her brain. Luckily, the shunt began to function again and surgery to replace it was postponed. But now the shunt has failed and she is scheduled for surgery.

TianTian needs your help, and so do we. The surgery and hospital bills will total around $2,000. We are asking for donations to help cover this cost and give TianTian an opportunity to finally be a healthy baby. She has waited a long time.
