Overwhelming Response for Cao Xiao Cao
CXC-3-22-2007 The response we received from our request for help for Cao Xiao Cao has been incredible!  We never imagined so many people would open their hearts so much and so fast.  We have been thrilled by the generosity of the donations but also by the outpouring of support for Shelli that we have received in many emails. So far over $8000 has been raised.   It has been great to see how many people have been following Cao as he has been on other agencies' lists and now has found his family.

This demonstrates the power we all have to make a life changing difference for a child.  Thank you all for your generous donations and we will keep you updated here as Shelli and Cao continue their adoption journey.
Featured Child From Our Waiting Child List
DGZWe will occasionally feature a child here that either has been waiting a long time for his or her family or has an especially difficult or unusual special need.  This week we are featuring Dang Gui Zhi.  He is a little over a year and a half old and has been on our list since last November.  We are nearing the end of the time we can keep his file and must send it back to the CCAA at the end of April.  You can read all about him by CLICKING HERE.  If you are not registered at the site you will first need to register and then go to Waiting Children China after you are logged in to the site.
Surgery Trip to China
LWB Love Without Boundaries (LWB) in partnership with The Shepherd's Crook Ministries has scheduled a surgery trip to China by Dr. Jorge Lazareff from UCLA Medical Center in the middle of April.  He is the same wonderful doctor that we have sent on several medical missions to China over the last 5 years.  This time he is going to Shanghai to operate on 13 children with various types of neural tube defects (spina bifida, etc.).  He and the other doctors and staff are volunteering their time and talents to help these children, but LWB is still short on the funds required to pay the hospital in Shanghai and transport the children there from all over China.  The cost per child is approximately $3000.

You can see the children who still need funding by CLICKING HERE .  This will take you directly to their site.  There are a number of children on their site who need funds for surgery but the ones in need of funds for this specific trip are the four children (a fifth may be added today) listed at the bottom of the page as having a meningocele. The dollar amount you see there is the amount still needed for the surgery.  LWB is a wonderful organization that has helped many children in China.  If you can help, please do so.  All donations are tax deductible, and you can donate directly through their website.
