A fellow said to me one time with a twinkle in his eye, "I bought my wife a waterbed and we've been drifting apart ever since." Seriously, married partners can drift apart in time and families can grow apart easily in this day and time. This usually happens unintentionally and unconsciously. But it is important that we pause ever so often for an evaluation of our marriage and family. Then we must take the time and expend the energy to make a course correction and head in a new direction.
In this marriage and family series ask yourself these questions:
* What have I learned so far about my marriage and family life?
* What changes need to be made in my life and home?
* What am I going to do about it?
Husbands and wives-I would like to encourage each of you to spend some time reviewing the sermon notes from this series of sermons in the month of May. Then schedule some times together in the next few weeks for discussing the questions and personalizing the response. Begin and end these sessions of inventory with prayer. Keep the Bible beside you and do depend on the Holy Spirit to guide you. Don't rush the process. If you will honor the Lord through this, He will show His favor and blessing to you as a family. This is so important because "Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain" (Psalm 127:1).
May God give you strength and guidance to build a great marriage and family!
Blessings,
