The Fruit of the Spirit Series - Galatians 5:22-23
What we've learned so far...
Jesus promised peace to His disciples, "Peace I leave you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid" (John 14:27).
This peace is not dependent on circumstances. It is different from the kind of peace the world gives (so it can't take it away). Furthermore, it is given to us as a gift of God's grace.
His peace is experienced personally as we-
- Construct our lives in compliance with God's Word.
"Great peace have they who love your law..." (Psalm 119:165).You are not going to be at peace with God if you are not in the right place with God's Word. - Maintain a daily walk of fellowship with the Lord.
"You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you" (Isaiah 26:3 NKJV). You will either focus on your problems or on your God who holds the solution to your problems. - Determine to trust God in difficult circumstances.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding..." (Proverbs 3:5-6).Devotional writer, Andrew Murray, once wrote, "God is willing to assume the full responsibility for a life fully devoted to Him."
Always Remember: Peace is a gift of God's grace which must be received deliberately and lived out daily.
