Mark Twain once said, "Do the right thing. It will astound your relatives and surprise your friends."
I like that. Even more, it serves to remind us of this simple truth:
It is always the right thing to do the right thing. And remember the right thing is rooted in the truth you value-
*If you believe in honesty, practice it.
*If you believe in fairness, show it.
*If you believe in morality, live it.
*If you believe in marriage, honor it.
*If you believe in family values, walk it.
*If you believe in decent language, use it.
*If you believe in prayer, do it.
*If you believe in the Bible, obey it.
*If you believe in church, attend it.
*If you believe in faith, practice it.
*If you believe in service, perform it.
*If you believe in giving, fulfill it.
*If you believe in love, show it.
*If you believe in compassion, embrace it.
*If you believe in hard work, exercise it.
*If you believe in frugality, implement it.
*If you believe in patriotism, observe it.
*If you believe in the gospel, share it.
*If you believe in righteousness, pursue it.
*If you believe in the Kingdom of God, seek it.
If it is the right thing, then we should do it. The Bible says, "Anyone, then, who knows the good thing he ought to do and doesn't do it, he sins" (James 4:17).
So if Mark Twain was right and we surprise a few along the way by doing the right thing, we should still do it-because it's the right thing!
Have a Blessed Day,
