Helen M. Dumski, MA, RD, LD
President & CEO
It is hard to believe that the Thanksgiving holiday is around the corner. At Diabetes Partnership we are thankful to our clients, volunteers, donors and funders. Without you, we would be unable to continue our mission to ensure that Greater Clevelanders affected by diabetes have the support they need to live well with diabetes. We have touched over 9000 people in our community this year through our service lines of Diabetes MattersTM and Camp Ho Mita Koda.
November is Diabetes Awareness Month. TAKE ACTION if you do not know the risk factors and symptoms related to diabetes. Take an online risk assessment test NOW to find out your risk. Send your family, friends, and co-workers here to get an assessment. Who knows, one of them could have diabetes and not even know. Please remember, this test is NOT diagnostic and is only a measure of relative risk. Only your doctor can diagnose you with diabetes.
If you have a question or concern, our staff health educators are only a phone call away at 216-591-0800 (Monday through Friday from 9am - 5pm). Early detection of diabetes is the best thing you can do for yourself or a loved one.
Thanksgiving is not only a time of giving thanks, but it is also a time to say thanks to those who have supported you. My thanks will be to my own family and my diabetes community family.
With gratitude,
Helen |

November is Diabetes Awareness Month
Each year, more people are diagnosed with type 2 diabetes than ever before. Many of us know someone who has been impacted by diabetes in some way-
a family member, a friend, or a neighbor. Nearly 26 million people in the United States have diabetes and the 57 million adults with pre-diabetes are at high risk for developing the disease. Alarmingly, 1 in 10 people in Northeast Ohio have diabetes.
These statistics are distressing. It is vitally important to be aware of the risk factors and possible symptoms that could signal diabetes. Click here for risk factors, symptoms, and tips to stay healthy and to help spread awareness about diabetes. |
