A Quick Look At News You Need to Live Well

 

 
  •  Join in the fun and support DAGC's largest annual fundraising event, Swim for Diabetes, on April 8, 9, 10 at 47 pools throughout Northeast Ohio.  Register today at www.SwimForDiabetes.com. Volunteers are still needed.  Please CLICK HERE to see where you can help.

  •  Registration for Camp Ho Mita Koda for children with diabetes is open!  Residential sessions and daylong programs are available.  Please visit www.CampHoMitaKoda.org for registration information.  Camp fees paid in full by April 15 are eligible for a reimbursement incentive! Financial aid is available.

  •  Camp Ho Mita Koda is hiring program/counseling staff, dispensary staff (RNs and LPNs), kitchen staff, and Counselors-in-Training.  Check out the job descriptions on clicking here today!

  • Do you know a school nurse who has made a difference in the life of a child with diabetes?  Nominations are being accepted through April 1 for the Susan J. Kramer Excellence in School Nursing Award.  This award recognizes the contributions of a Northeastern Ohio school nurse who has demonstrated compassion, initiative and leadership in the care and management of diabetes in an elementary, middle or high school setting. Visit the Camp Ho Mita Koda website for nominee criteria and to complete a simple nomination form.

  •  DAGC and the YMCA of Greater Cleveland are offering a free, 10-week Diabetes Education, Support and Self-Management program at the Southeast YMCA in Bedford.  Classes started on Friday, March 18 and are held each Friday from 9-10am through May 20.  Participants will have access to YMCA of Greater Cleveland facilities and exercise classes throughout the 10-week period.  After successful completion of the program with 90% attendance at all classes, participants will receive a free six-month membership to the YMCA.  It's not too late to sign up.  Please visit www.dagc.org/ymca.asp or call (216) 663-7522 for more details.

  •  Calling all Allied Health professionals!  Now is your last chance to register for our Allied Health Symposium this Thursday, March 24, at Embassy Suites-Independence.  The program is designed for diabetes educators to sharpen their skills.  Continuing education credits are available.  Please visit www.dagc.org/ahs.asp or call (216) 591-0800 to register today.

  •  Spring is here and it's almost time for DAGC's 20th Annual Golf Tournament presented by Consolidated Graphics Group, Inc.  The tournament will take place Monday, June 6 at Canterbury Golf Club in Shaker Heights.  Register before May 3 and receive a free tee sign!
