     I am delighted to present this special SWIM edition of our monthly e-newsletter, Diabetes Matters.  We at DAGC are very proud of the hundreds of people who participated in this year's Verizon Wireless Swim for Diabetes, raising thousands of dollars to help support our mission of helping those in Northeast Ohio with type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
   Many thanks to the 800+ swimmers and divers and more than 200 volunteers who "pooled together" for a great cause!  We look forward to seeing you next year for our 25th Swim April 23, 24 and 25, 2010!

Ramona Ford in Ballys poolRamona Ford of Garfield Heights swam 30 laps at Bally in Maple Heights.  Ramona has type 2 diabetes, has been participating in the Swim since 2003 and will turn 60 years YOUNG in July!

The Diabetes Association of Greater Cleveland (DAGC) is a local, independent nonprofit agency dedicated to helping the 1 in 11 people with type 1 or type 2 diabetes in Northeast Ohio.  One hundred percent of funds raised remain in our community to support prevention and risk assessment programs, diabetes education, local medical research, and Camp Ho Mita Koda for children with diabetes.
