Top Story - UW Bothell Sees Record Growth
 Growth is the buzz word at the University of Washington Bothell and can be used to describe not only its enrollment figures but also its academic programs and facilities. The Fall 2008 quarter brings a strong boost to enrollment with 1,899 full-time equivalent (FTE) students, a 21% increase in students from Fall 2007.

UW Bothell - Campus Updates
Banners Up in Downtown  In an ongoing partnership with the City of Bothell, a new set of banners have gone up along Main Street featuring UW Bothell and City of Bothell logos. The project was initiated by a combination of campus and city leadership. If you haven't already ventured down Bothell's Main Street, take a few moments to check them out. Fitness Center Opens The new student fitness center at UW Bothell opened in September to resounding applause. Funded by student fees ($175,000 in student activity fees and $45,000 in student technology fees), the center is a wonderful new offering that benefits students' health and wellness and is sure to foster an increased sense of campus life and community. Trackin' the Dawgs - Alumni Class Notes
 Tom Goos (Business '98) was
honored by the Puget Sound Business Journal as one of the 2008 Forty
Under Forty. Tom is a trustee for the UW Bothell Center for Student
Entrepreneurship and is Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of
Image Source, Inc. and Branded Solutions by Edgar Martinez.
In September, Kathleen
Bartholomew (MN '05) spoke in Chicago, Ill. as a featured
national expert at the Nursing Leadership Summit.
Sujit
Bhavsar (MBA '07) and his
family attended the Olympic Games in China to cheer on younger brother
Raj, a bronze medalist on the U.S. Men's Gymnastics team.
Holli Martinez (IAS '08) and
her
husband Edgar, launched their Martinez Foundation in late September.
The
Foundation provides scholarship support to minority students who are
pursuing
their studies in education.
Congratulations to the 19 members of the
original
Nursing cohort in Mount Vernon that graduated this past August. Of the
group Elizabeth Anderson (BSN '08), Miguel Arteaga (BSN '08), Gabriella
Mihaly (BSN '08) and Claude Weadon (BSN '08) have enrolled
in UW Bothell's Master of Nursing program.
