On June 15, UW Bothell celebrated its 17th
Commencement and welcomed the 778 graduates of 2008.
UW Bothell now boasts
nearly 8,000 alumni - part of a family of more than 310,000 living Husky

Center for Student Entrepreneurship
 The UW Bothell Center for Student
Entrepreneurship (CSE) was established in 2006 with the goal of helping students become successful entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial employees. UW Bothell
has a proud tradition of student entrepreneurs. Over 40 companies have been birthed out of CSE affiliated students and
alums. Alumni companies represent a variety of fields - information technology,
financial lending, dance, retail food, clothing, etc.The Center held the finals of its
Student Entrepreneurship Competition on May 30. The first place team,
Eco Cycle, is a company devoted to designing and marketing bicycles with frames
made from high grade, recycled aluminum alloy. Team leader Cisco Zapata was accompanied by his MBA team: Julie Archibald, Shannon Thomas, and
Maarten Niesten. Eco Cycle receives $10,000 along with Coaching Services
and Accounting & Strategy Consultation. If you're interested in the Center,

Georgia Kalasountas (Liberal Studies '98) was featured this week in a variety of newspapers regarding ghost hunting aboard Washington State Ferries.
Grace Martinez's (IAS '04) pet sitting business 2 Dogs and a Cat, earned the "Best
Western Washington Pet Sitter" award at the inaugural WAG Awards presented by Seattle Dog Magazine last month.
Karen Story (Business '04) is leaving her current position at
MultiCare Health System as an internal auditor to be the manager of the brand
new pre-service center, which is part of MultiCare's revenue cycle. She will
create the department from scratch and increase revenue opportunities for the
non-profit healthcare organization.
Dana Bush (MN '05) is beginning her Ph.D. studies. She
is also teaching Fundamentals in the ASN program at Cox College of Nursing and
Health Sciences in Springfield,
Mo.
