The
Office of Student Affairs at the University
of Washington Bothell
invites you to celebrate the life of Natalie Kay Lang, Admissions and
International Student Advisor, who passed away on December 23, 2007.
The
Celebration of Life Service will be in the UW Bothell North Creek Events Center
on Friday, January 11, 1:00 p.m. To celebrate Natalie's contributions,
especially to international students, people are encouraged to wear something
with an international aspect.
Natalie
passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, friends, coworkers and her beloved
international students. She died of unexpected liver problems while on dialysis
from kidney failure.
Among
many contributions over her 12 years at UW Bothell, Natalie had been very
involved in welcoming and supporting international students through a
Thanksgiving dinner and a festive Intercultural Night on campus. Natalie was
awarded the very prestigious 2004 Staff Award from the Associated Students of
the University of
Washington Bothell in
recognition and appreciation for her outstanding dedication and commitment to
her students.
Natalie
Lang graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Studies with an Option
in Comparative U.S. Studies in 1997 and had been working on a Master of Policy
Studies degree from the UW Bothell.
In
memory of Natalie, Student Affairs has kept her office, UW1 183, as she left
it. You are invited to visit her office to write in a Book of Memories or, if
you prefer, write in the adjacent conference room (UW1 192) for more privacy,
or send a letter.
