On this past March 26th

we had the opportunity of getting married at one of the most beautiful places in Mexico, Tequila. The reception was held at the private grounds of Jose Cuervo where we shared this special day with friends and family. You might be wondering why we chose this unique venue so let me tell you a little more about our story. Mike and I met almost six years ago through work in Guadalajara, Mexico.  In 2007 I attended a workshop in Chicago. Mike and I met afterwards at a Tequila bar called "Salud".  That night we enjoyed tequila while we danced, and since that night we have been on an incredible journey.  Thinking on where we met and how our relationship started it made total sense to have our wedding in Tequila, Mexico. For those who are not familiar with this beautiful town, Tequila is located in the state of Jalisco about 60 km from the city of Guadalajara. Tequila is best known as being the birthplace of the drink that bears its name, "tequila," which is made from the blue agave plant, native to this area. The history and worldwide popularity of the drink has led to the town of Tequila and the vast agave fields surrounding it to be declared a World Heritage Site. You should check it out!

W HOTELS TO OPEN RESORT IN RIVIERA MAYA

W Hotels Worldwide announced plans to open W Retreat & Spa Kanai, a 180-room property in the Kanai Resort under development in Mexico's Riviera Maya south of Cancun. The property, which is being designed with meandering gardens and courtyards, will offer a full-service spa and 7,500 square feet of event space. It will be one of four hotels, offering a total of 600 rooms, at Kanai Resort. 

LOS CABOS USES STAR POWER IN ITS LATEST CAMPAIGN

Los Cabo LogoThe Los Cabos Convention & Visitors Bureau launched a strategic marketing, public relations and travel agent outreach program, which includes the Time2Cabo initiative, a multimillion-dollar ad and marketing campaign that spotlights the destination's numerous activities, attractions and value-added packages.
The campaign launch dovetails with gains in hotel occupancies recorded each month this year, beginning with a 16% jump in January over the same period a year ago, according to Gonzalo Franyutti, president of the Los Cabos Convention & Visitors Bureau. Hailed as the destination of choice among some of Hollywood's hottest celebrities, Los Cabos' beaches and hot spots have been splashed across many entertainment publications and websites. To capitalize on that notoriety, the Los Cabos CVB later this month will launch a social media contest encouraging fans to re-create and submit their favorite celebrity photo: on the beach, by the pool, in a restaurant, for example. The three best submissions will be selected for fan voting on Facebook; the picture with the most votes will win a trip for two to Los Cabos.
