Greetings!
Last week we had a chance to get out of town on a sort of bus man's holiday.
It isn't often we get out and it was just a couple days in Grand Rapids. Not far, but not Kalamazoo.
The reason for the excursion was the the Gordon Food Service show. A chance to see, touch, smell, and compare food items that are available to us. We did see a couple new items to bring in. You will probably not even notice the change. And you might see a couple items show up as featured items.
It is challenging to find new things in world that is increasingly bent towards convenience and pre- made.
We were sent home with a sample of pre-done potatoes for our American fries.
We thought we would give them a shot. We know the guys and gals in the kitchen hate peeling the 300 plus pounds of potatoes that we go through in a week.
We also got a chance to take some of the Art Prize exhibits. Some really beautiful works of art by extremely talented people and some that were, well very creative.
Oh and those potatoes, I guess we are still going to have to listen to them complain.
