Tri Delta August 2012 News

Welcome to the Tampa Alumnae Chapter's August 2012 Newsletter. We're ready to kick off a wonderful year of Tri Delta sisterhood, so please browse the newsletter, click on links to see additional information, and be sure to mark your calendar for upcoming events. We hope to see you soon!

President's Message

End-of-summer greetings Deltas,

It is hard to believe that "back to school" is upon us. But with the end of summer brings recruitment, college football, and lots of Tri Delta fun!

Tri Delta began the concept of alumnae chapters back in 1892 with the foundation of the first "alliance" in Boston. In recognition of this day in Tri Delta's history, August 29, the day when the first alliance (alumnae chapter as we know it today) was founded, is designated as Alliance Day.

As an alumnae chapter our mission is to reaffirm the Purpose of Delta Delta Delta and exemplify her high ideals.

Alumnae chapters shall foster unselfish friendships among all members. ~~ Many social events are on our calendar.

Alumnae chapters shall provide opportunities for philanthropic service, personal enrichment and professional development in an atmosphere of sisterhood. ~~ Dine in/out at Chili's on September 24th to support St. Jude Children's Hospital and participate in our Poinsettia Sale to support the Children's Cancer Center.

Alumnae chapters shall support the collegiate chapters and the Foundation, and work to strengthen the Fraternity. ~~ We are proud to assist Beta Alpha during Recruitment and special events, and we are about to launch a new program to mentor the seniors of Beta Alpha -- watch for more news on this soon!

In regards to the Purpose of Tri Delta and establishing a perpetual bond of friendship, what does Tri Delta mean to you? Friendship? Fun? Support? Laughter? Loyalty? Tri Delta has shown me all of these qualities and then some. As an alumnae chapter, I hope we can continue growing our bonds of friendship and assisting our members in every possible way.

THE PURPOSE OF DELTA DELTA DELTA shall be to establish a perpetual bond of friendship among its members, to develop a stronger and more womanly character, to broaden the moral and intellectual life, and to assist its members in every possible way.

IT SHALL ALSO BE THE PURPOSE OF DELTA DELTA DELTA to promote and develop mutually beneficial relationships between the Fraternity and the colleges and universities where the Fraternity has established chapters, to develop qualities of unselfish leadership among its members, and to encourage them to assume, with integrity and devotion to moral and democratic principles, the highest responsibilities of college women.
