Greetings,

Island County is blessed with 221 miles of fresh and saltwater shoreline. In order to properly protect this valuable asset, we are in the process of updating our Shoreline Management Plan which was last amended back to 2001. This is an important opportunity for our community to draft a document which reflects our vision for the future.

Shoreline Residential Properties Workshop

As part of the update of the Shoreline Master Program, Island County will hold a public workshop to discuss shoreline residential properties. 

This informational meeting will outline the existing rules and the state requirements for the local plan update.  Also, there will be a chance for the public to give input as to whether the rules we have are the right ones to meet the mandates and if they are suitable for local circumstances.  I encourage you to attend or offer comments via letter or email.
