October 10, 2011 |
Greetings, Tomorrow night, Tuesday October 11, the Board of Island County Commissioners will hold a public hearing at 6pm in Trinity Lutheran Church, the new building, to gain local input on proposals to change the use of four South Whidbey road segments. The proposals to be aired are to: - Extend the 20-minute parking zone to include the full length of Ferry Dock Road, and make it one-way, to relieve congestion;
- Reduce the speed limit on the quarter-mile stretch of Glendale Road which ends at the 2009 washout site barricade;
- Reduce the speed limit on East Harbor Road from 50 mph to 40 mph between Passage Way and Ashley Loop in response to a community petition;
- Extend the 25 mph speed limit on Lancaster Road from the intersection with Woodard Avenue to the Lancaster Road-Wahl Road intersection to increase safety.
Please join us and tell others about this opportunity so the Board can hear the potential local impacts, either positive or negative, of these proposals. |
