 Kaetlyn Osmond Finishes 10th Overall at the 2012 ISU Junior  Worlds Championships 
Minsk, Belarus  
With a first place finish in the preliminary round, Kaetlyn entertained the crowd with her updated free program, featuring a triple lutz. Kaetlyn demonstrated maturity and immense talent at this year's World Juniors and achieved her personal goal of finishing in the top 10.

Special Olympics Athletes conclude the  2012 Special Olympics Canada Winter Games on a Good Edge 
February 28, 2012 - March 3, 2012 
Five Section skaters competed  last week at the 2012 Special Olympics Canada Winter Games. Meg Oshada won the gold medal for Level 1 Dance and Level 3 Divisioning D2; Kennedy Zaytsoff won a gold medal in Level 3 Dance and a silver medal in Level 5 final; Kristina Hansen placed 6th in Level 1 Dance, 5th in Level 4 Free Skate and 5th in Level 4 Technical Program; and Rachel Ryan placed 8th in Level 2 Elements.

The 2012 Arctic Winter Games concluded on Saturday, March 10, 2012 with many memorable performances.  Congratulations to McKenna Colthorp who won a gold medal in the Combined Ladies 3 event and to the skaters on the Alberta North Junior Female Team who claimed a silver medal in the Junior Female Team event. Blending CanSkate and CanPowerSkate 
The wheels started rolling after attending the spring Section AGM last year and participating in the CanSkate revisions workshop. Our club was looking to revitalize the current CanSkate program. We knew our community needed an instructional base for fundamental skating skill that could lead either to hockey and/or ringette.  We decided to try running CanSkate and CanPower programs together sharing the new format.
