Duso's at Mountain RegionalsDuso's Enterprises Ltd.
I recently attended my first Skate Canada: Alberta-NWT/ Nunavut event in conjunction with Duso's sponsorship launch at the Mountain Regionals Synchronized Skating Competition in Edmonton.

I sincerely enjoyed watching teams practicing, overhearing the encouraging words of coaches and teammates and seeing the hustle and bustle of your volunteer officials and host club setting up for the competition. The Athlete's Dinner on Friday night was a great opportunity to meet skaters and parents.  It was fun to see everyone enjoying our pasta.

The competition was fantastic!  It is refreshing to see a sport that includes all levels of ages and abilities.  Synchronized skating is beautiful to watch.   Congratulations to everyone who participated and all the best to the teams that advanced to Nationals.Duso's at MR

Duso's is honoured to partner with Skate Canada: Alberta-NWT/ Nunavut in achieving goals and contributing to communities through healthy eating, fitness and fun!

Keep up the great work,

Active Alberta

In January's editions of 'In the Loop', the six outcomes of Alberta Tourism, Parks and Recreation's Active Alberta Policy were introduced as Active Albertans, Active Communities, Active Outdoors, Active Engagement, Active Coordinated System and Active Pursuit of Excellence.

Outcome 1 is Active Albertans: More Albertans are active, more often.  Its strategic priorities are:

  • Working with partners, encourage and improve opportunities for children and families to engage in high quality, unstructured, and creative play.
  • Working with partners, increase levels of physical activity of Albertans of all ages and abilities across their lifespan and in diverse settings (e.g. homes, schools, workplaces) by sharing knowledge, supporting physical literacy and encouraging participation opportunities.
  • Through effective communication, including social marketing, increase awareness among all Albertans about how and where they can be active.
  • Support the integration of the Canadian Sport for Life model into the education, recreation, active living and sport development systems.
  • Work with partners to develop innovative, accessible after school programs that link community recreation programs and services to schools and community facilities.
  • Encourage school communities to adopt a comprehensive school health approach to promote healthy, active living.
